Dr Gerry Wolff is quite correct about wind generators. The government has dragged its feet long enough. They must stop talking about green issues and start doing something to encourage implementation for wind & wave power generation, solar water heating, and energy saving initiatives. Zero taxation on such spending would be a simple way to kick-start such projects.
Grants to householders to improve their insulation would be another.
But the best power saving would be if people just turned their house heating down to a reasonable 18 degrees C and just put on a jumper/feece if they feel the cold!
We are suffering from the legacy of that stupid advertising back in the 60's that suggested that we should all go around dressed in summer clothes, with the central heating banging away full blast during the freezing days of winter!
Just dress appropriately.
